Application for Exemption

Applicant: Jet Aviation Australia Pty Ltd

The Applicant Jet Aviation Australia Pty Ltd has applied to the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal for exemption from sections 52, 54 and 107 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA) insofar as they relate to the “citizenship, previous citizenships, race or nationality, and substantive contacts” of the Applicant’s employees and contractors.

The exemption is sought for a period of three (3) years.

The Applicant submits that it requires the proposed exemption to be able to comply with the laws of the United States of America (USA) manufacturers for military/defence engineering technology, parts and products for its aircraft and Commonwealth aircraft. Parts and technical data are imported and transferred from the USA into Australia for the purpose of meeting Jet Aviation's Australian contracts, including those with RAAF.
